NOT AN OLD SHOE...

NOT AN OLD SHOE...
As a grandparent, as a Christian, as a long time follower of Christ and as a minister of the gospel, and as one who has been blessed to learn at the Master's feet, as one who has been led along the strait and narrow, and walked through the valley of the shadow of death, as one who has been enabled by the grace and wisdom of God to walk in His steps and to walk in the light, I am glad for the opportunity to be able to talk to grandchildren and correct them, warn them, encourage them, enlighten them. I am glad for their parents who do not worry about me imposing my own personal view of life or saddling the grandchildren with "old school" or outdated mores and opinions. I am glad when they don't get uptight, thinking that I am trying to take their place as parents. I am glad when the grandchildren respect me and accept my authority, because they see their parents give me that respect and honor. How sad it is for grandchildren to be robbed of the wisdom and love and support of loving, Christian grandparents.
