The Christian experience and life is miraculous, which is why so few people really grasp the meaning of being a Christian.
THE FALLACY
When people think that being a Christian is simply a religious or moral or cultural or academic or even a spiritualists reality, then they have no idea what it means to be a Christian.
THE FACT
When God invades a person's soul, there is a peace that truly does pass understanding and joy that actually is unspeakable and full of glory. This is not hyperbole.
When a person is forgiven of his sins, he comes to understand what it really means to be delivered from the sentence of death, to be totally reconciled to the loving Father. His guilt is not just assuaged, it is completely removed.
When a person is regenerated by the Holy Spirit, he becomes suddenly alive, as a dead man who is raised from the grave. He enters into a living and loving relationship with God that is undeniable and beyond description.
When a sin stained soul is cleansed from his polluted and corrupted acts of filthiness, he bathes in the glory of holiness.
When an estranged, an alienated person is welcomed into the family of God, he is delivered from his separation and loneliness, and abandonment and rejection.
When a person is a recipient of all these blessings from God, he desires to be the vessel of reconciliation and not the cause of conflict.
THE FRUIT OF FOLLOWING
Salvation is not only miraculous concerning the personal benefits provided for the saved person, it is miraculous because it transmits the graces of God to other undesirable people. It is miraculous because it transforms the recipient into a new creation and an instrument of God's peace.
THE FAILURE OF THE FALSE
When the miracle of salvation does not reflect the glory of God and shine into other people's lives, it is because the person has the words of salvation, but not the reality. Their lips speak the right words, but their hearts are far from Him.
FIVE STEPS
So, how can you become a true recipient of the miraculous touch of God.
LISTEN for the call of God (because many are called, but few are chosen).
ANSWER the call of God (because you have a choice).
TRUST God to do the miracle of salvation within you (because the Christian life is a life of faith).
WAIT on the Lord (because without Him we will fail).
