HE GAVE HIS SON FOR OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS

HE GAVE HIS SON FOR OUR SONS AND DAUGHTERS
Providing The Good
When people want their children to get the best results from life, they try to give them the best input in life. This includes education, health, economics, social achievement, music, sports, art, diet, professions or trades, jurisprudence, and the list continues.

Missing The Mark
However, when it comes to providing and guiding children into a right relationship with God and preparation for life and eternity, most people offer very little help to their children. This is true for several reasons (or excuses). But regardless of the reason, it is destructive to raise children without proper spiritual input and direction. This neglect results in personal, interpersonal, social and eternal loss.

Exceptions To The Rule
Don't misunderstand me. I am not saying that all children raised with a solid background in the Bible, and in the Body of Christ are going to become all that God wants them to be. After all, consider Adam and Eve, which had the best possible training, but still chose to go in the wrong direction. And it is not to say that all neglected children will resist and reject God and live a life without God. However, those who overcome such neglect are the rare exception to the Divine principle.

The Divine Directive
The bottom line is that each person makes his/her own decision and is personally accountable. BUT GOD EXPECTS PARENTS TO LEAD THE WAY OF FAITHFULNESS TO CHRIST.

We lead through practice and precept.

OBSTACLES
Every soul stands in jeopardy of being lost forever because...
The enemies of the soul are great in number and in power, and
The inherited sin nature is bent toward sin darkness and the impaired human nature is weakened, and
Satan is ever vigilant to destroy.
Therefore a child's soul is not a blank page or an empty vessel.

BUT GOD...
Desires children to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
God has given us His word, which can ignite faith in those children.
God has called mom's and dad's to Himself and He equips us to train up our child in the way they should go.
The Holy Spirit calls them and enables them to trust and follow God.
PROACTIVE PARENTING
We must not fail our children.
We must not take the salvation of their souls lightly.
We must not excuse their spiritual wandering.
We must not trust them to their peers or their own desires.

DIVINE EXAMPLE
God gave His Son to save our sons and daughters, it will take nothing less than our total commitment to be part of His plan to win them.
