HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST

HAVE THE MIND OF CHRIST

The miracle of the redeemed life is the miracle of transformation,
Transformation of the heart (desires),
Transformation of the life (behavior),
Transformation of the mind (thoughts).

Obviously I would like to address all of these areas, but let me just briefly mention TRANSFORMATION OF THE MIND.

God does the transforming, but He only transforms as much of our mind as we surrender.
He initiates communication with us.
He breaks down barriers between us.
He invades our thoughts.
He quickens our will.
He appeals to our inner hunger and need for a right relationship between ourselves and God.
He draws us to Himself.
He convicts us of sin.
He convinces us of righteousness.
He confirms to us His judgment.

But don't misunderstand. He requires us to respond to His call, and He requires us to surrender our mind, our thoughts, our beliefs, our world view and loyalty.

This surrender is required for our conversion and also for receiving the fullness of the Holy Spirit. But it is also required every day, every moment. This is what it means to, "bring every thought captive to the obedience of Christ."

This is why we see so few that are on fire for God,
So few that are saturated with God,
So few that are walking in the Spirit of God,
So few that are experiencing the power of God in every hour of every day.

This is why we don't see the TRANSFORMING MIRACLE OF DIVINE ENABLING, AND PERFECT LOVE, and all of the other traits that arise from a heart that has been purified from all sin and filled with God Himself.
PEOPLE WILL NOT SURRENDER THEIR MINDS TO GOD. They will not renounce the dark and hidden things, and they will not die to the world, the flesh and sin.

You cannot have spiritual (Christian) victory as long as you withhold any part of your life from God, including your thoughts. Thoughts that come from God are companions of faith. Thoughts that are withheld from God are critical, doubting, complaining and rebellious.

The un-surrendered thoughts that people cherish are the thoughts that make them perish. Pride bars the door to light and the mind becomes ensnared in darkness and corruption and falls victim to destruction.

No one accidentally surrenders their thoughts to God. It is an act of the will, based on reason, desire, emotion and conscience. If you want to surrender all, then surrender all and live like you have surrendered all. If you are having trouble making full surrender, then surrender what you can and ask God to help you surrender the rest. God wants all of you, including your thoughts, more than you want Him to have them. Christ died so that you might be transformed in your thinking.

CONSIDER THESE PASSAGES...
2 Corinthians 10:5

(5) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

Romans 12:1-2
(1) I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
(2) And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Philippians 2:5-8
(5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
(6) Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
(7) But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
(8) And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
