DO NOT DELAY
The longer we allow corruption and decay to remain in our lives, the greater will be our loss and the more difficult will be our recovery and the less complete and less productive will be our lives.

In Verse
Christ is the way.
Do not delay,
To turn away,
From sin, and pray.

This is the day,
That you may say,
In Christ I'll stay,
No more to stray.

Psalm 119:1-8
1 Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.
2 Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
3 They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.
4 Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.
5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
6 Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.
7 I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. note

A Response
I told a grandchild this morning that I had written a little poem, and that I wanted to read it to him. I figured what he would probably do, and I was right.

As I was reading my poem he interrupted and asked me what "delay" means, so I explained it to him, and continued to read. He interrupted me again and asked what "stray" means, so I explained that also. Then he got this bright smile and said, I get it, the words sound the same and it is Christian. All of my grandchildren have really good vocabularies, and this is a reason why; they listen and they ask questions.

Needed In The Church
As I think about it, how many adults will hear things in church or Bible study that they do not understand, yet they do not ask for help? Until we are eager to learn the truths of God, we will remain un-enlightened. People (Christians) need to have a driving hunger to hear, to understand, to know the word of God. Yet I see so little concern for the greatest truths in the word. Not just academic or heady knowledge, but lack of hunger for spiritual truths that would transform them.
