I heard a "preacher" say (in accordance with his belief in unconditional, unilateral "election") that it would be futile to ask God to save his young daughter (or anyone), since "election" (according to his misunderstanding) is left to God, and is not influenced at all by human endeavor. At least this guy was consistent in his confusion. Too bad for him, for his daughter and for all of the people he influences with his dark and damnable sayings. But, if I believed God has decided unilaterally who would be saved and who would be lost, then I would have no real reason to pray for anyone's salvation. BUT THAT AIN'T THE WAY IT IS. Don't allow these purveyors of heresy to shape your thinking.
