THIS CAN SAVE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS

THIS CAN SAVE YOUR RELATIONSHIPS
One of the greatest destroyers of relationships and spiritual life is the gullibility of the human mind, which listens to voices. The deceived person does not think he is listening to voices. He thinks that the thoughts he is having are his own original thoughts, filtered through his own infallible wisdom.

However, the devil comes to us as "an angel of light." He is a pretender, impersonating Divine manifestations and angelic messengers, therefore we should not be surprised that he speaks to us in the deep recesses of our minds, leading us to think that the thoughts we have are our own and that they are based upon facts, truth, reason and logic. The more proud and self sufficient a person is, the easier he is to deceive.

This does not mean that we believe everything we are told by other people, but we must not allow intuition, or sixth sense or discernment or insights or feelings to be the determining factor in our view of other people. Listening to these anonymous or mislabeled voices can be the same as listening to a meddlesome liar, a tail bearer, a trouble maker. It can harden your heart to truth and lead you to destruction. These "voices" can be the result of physical maladies, which afflict the function of the brain, or drugs that impair clear thinking, or unwarranted trust in other people or spiritual (demonic) influences.

Sometimes these voices lead us into temptation, sometimes they gender trust in the wrong people or principles, sometimes they build walls of separation and create chasms of distrust between us and the people who love us.

Actual, verifiable facts are essential, but facts can also be manipulated. In order to understand and live life to the fullest, there must be Divine wisdom, which is based on Biblical truth, and found in godly counsel. A deep spiritual life is basic to living in light rather than darkness. But a truly spiritual life is a life that flourishes with the Fruit of the Spirit and magnifies Jesus in deed and word. The truly spiritual life is adorned with the beauty of holiness of life and abounds with love, and humbly submits to Christ and lives in harmony with other godly people.

1 John 4:1
(1) Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

Romans 16:19
(19) For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil.

1 Thessalonians 5:21
(21) Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.
