MUCH WILL BE REQUIRED

MUCH WILL BE REQUIRED
As I was thinking about the Exodus of Israel from Egypt, I remembered that the tenth and final plague, which God brought against Egypt, was the death of the firstborn. Those who celebrated the Passover escaped that judgment of God. It would have been so easy, yet so unseemly, to boast in such a victory and then presume on that former deliverance, rather than live in submission to the One Who provided that deliverance.

However, as the years passed, the reality of their deliverance also vanished from their hearts as well. Those who had been delivered from slavery by the mighty hand of God began questioning and criticizing and cursing the day they were delivered.

BUT THEN WHAT HAPPENED. Not only the first born, but all those who came out of Egypt fell victim to their own murmuring and complaining, except for Joshua and Caleb, who remained faithful. It is more disastrous to sin against greater light than lesser light. The greater the light that is eschewed, the greater the darkness will be that envelopes.

2 Peter 2:21
(21) For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
