WHAT IS A WITNESS

WHAT IS A WITNESS
As I was talking to someone recently about Christian concepts, they asked me what I mean when I talk about being a "witness." I gave a brief illustration, and they seemed to grasp the idea, even before I was finished speaking. Here it is. (D) = David and (F) = Friend.

(D) If you are standing on the sidewalk, and you see either a crime being committed or an accident take place, you may be called to court to tell what you saw.
(F) At this point my friend interjected, "Give your testimony."
(D) I said, "Exactly. And a Christian witness is when a believer, follower of Christ gives his/her testimony. We tell people what Jesus has done and is doing in our lives, and what we have seen Him do in other people's lives. We tell people what the Bible says about Jesus."

I know this is simple, but we need to realize that since there is so little actually "witnessing" and Bible preaching taking place today, most of the people we meet, of all ages (but especially the young) do not know the basics of Christ and His salvation. They may have a warped view of Christ and the Christian faith because of misinformation and false teaching. If you know Christ personally, as the One Who saves you from your sin, then you need to lift Him up to those around you. If you don't shine the light of the gospel, who will?

Make sure this a, "SHARE JESUS WEEK."
