DIFFERENT WAYS PEOPLE VIEW END TIMES
(this is NOT about DOCTRINAL VIEWS, such as Pre, Mid, Post Tribulational)
NON-BIBLICAL DOOMSDAY-ER
* Based on fantasy.
(This can include; setting times and naming individuals as the anti-Christ or a False Christ, numerology, fantasy and new age interpretations, etc.).
* Mixture of fantasy and Bible.
(The end is coming, doomsday is here, resort to un-Scriptural responses).
BIBLICALLY BASED
* End is near, but man-made interpretations are attached to Biblical concepts; such as time setting and character identification and reaction to change.
WARNING! Non-Biblical Responses Offered: such as, militia, space ships, suicide pacts.
* End is coming, but it is not imminent. No present concern.
NO WARNING.
* End is here, panic mode.
WARNING! WARNING! WARNING! Withdraw from society, resist change, save the world.
* End appears to be near. Prophesied events seem to be unfolding. Alignment of current events (as they happen) with Biblical events.
WARNING! Prepare for spiritual warfare by walking in the Spirit; watch the signs of the times, live unfettered by worldly attachments.
This is my viewpoint.
What To Do.
We can know the order of coming end time events.
We can read the signs of the times.
We can prepare for terrible changes in our society.
We must warn others about God's coming judgments and offer them God's deliverance from sin through Christ.
IF WE IGNORE BIBLICAL PROPHECY, we will be led into greater darkness and possibly never find our way out, or we will doom the youth of today to spiritual bondage and death.
By being Biblical we will appear to be fanatical, but that goes with the territory.
Matthew 24:4-25 (words of Jesus)
(4) And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
(5) For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
(6) And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
(7) For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
(8) All these are the beginning of sorrows.
(9) Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
(10) And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
(11) And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
(12) And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
(13) But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
(14) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
(15) When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
(16) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
(17) Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
(18) Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
(19) And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
(20) But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
(21) For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
(22) And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
(23) Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
(24) For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
(25) Behold, I have told you before.
Titus 2:11-15 (vs. 13)
(11) For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
(12) Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
(13) Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
(14) Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
(15) These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
2 Peter 3:6-14 (vss. 11-14)
(6) Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
(7) But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
(8) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
(9) The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
(10) But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
(11) Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
(12) Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
(13) Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
(14) Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
