THE IRONY OF IT ALL
The irony of a Christian based governmental system is that Christian morality is the standard set and expected of society, but the tolerance, which God affords the free will (though limited and answerable for evil choices), is betrayed and violated by the non believer, to the point of rampant and legal godlessness, libertinism and anarchy, resulting in oppression and violence. Check out the days of Noah, the communities of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Christless and Christ rejecting societies of modern history.
To reject the standards of right and wrong, established by God, is to invite the shackles of political and religious suffering and totalitarianism, and ultimately, the righteous judgment of God. In other words, in order to please their insatiable desire for selfish fulfillment, people will revolt against God's authority and basic laws of decency, only to come under a merciless system that offers neither safety or fulfillment, and then they will still need to answer for their rejection of God's merciful, gracious, loving, wise, reasonable rule in their lives.
I hope you will read, reflect on the following passages from God's Holy Bible. Don't skim or skip over them. meditate and find truth, find freedom.
John 3:16-21
(16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
(18) He that believes on him is not condemned: but he that believes not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(19) And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
(20) For every one that does evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.
(21) But he that does truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 5:26-29
(26) For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;
(27) And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.
(28) Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,
(29) And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.
Romans 2:3-11
(3) And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
(4) Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads thee to repentance?
(5) But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
(6) Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
(7) To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
(8) But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
(9) Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
(10) But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
(11) For there is no respect of persons with God.
REMEMBER, we are not saved by our own moral uprightness, but when we are saved, we will live our lives in holiness, all the days of our lives (Lk. 1:73-75; Ro. 6:19-22; 2 Co. 7:1; Ep. 4:24; 1 Th. 3:13; 1 Th. 4:7; He. 12:14).
