ONE MINDEDNESS
I will give a quick overview of my background and then state my observation. My background does not prove that my observation is correct, but it does indicate that my observation is based on more than just hearsay or groundless ranting.
BACKGROUND
I am 68 years old.
I have been witnessing for Jesus for 65 year (I was saved and called to preach when I was 3 years old, though my high school years were hot and cold rather than consistent).
I have attended churches since I was very young and my dad would drop me off on Sunday mornings, until the present. These churches include: Methodist, Baptist, Assembly of God, Church of God, Church of God of Prophecy, Presbyterian, Free Will Baptist, Friends (EFC-ER and NCYM), Wesleyan Methodist, People's Methodist, Pilgrim Holiness, Wesleyan, Evangelical Methodist, Nazarene, and a number of independent and non denominational churches, Chinese and Hispanic churches.
I have been ministering the word of God for 50 years.
I have been pastoring for 46 years.
I have been pastor to 12 different churches (9 different parishes in 5 different states), with 3 denominations as well as independent congregations.
I have preached in countless revivals, conferences, camps, retreats, missions, special events; in 7 states and 5 countries.
I have had churches in traditional buildings, storefronts, houses, tents, campers, a bus, motel conference rooms, libraries, and even outdoors.
OBSERVATION
The most loving, most joyful, most peaceful, most productive, most harmonious, most serving, most giving churches I have ever pastored and observed are churches that have God anointed pastors who love their people and teaches them God's word, and a congregation that loves and trusts and follows their pastor, and lives together in unity and harmony with one another. In other words, churches of one mind and willing to submit to Biblical authority, and follow Christ at all cost.
Obviously we are talking about a church that is Biblical in doctrine and practice.
This is essential if we want to be individuals and churches that are useful in the service of God.
