THE FUTURE OF ISRAEL
Q. Will Israel be destroyed by Islam?
A. ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!
Q. Will Israel ever cease to exist as a nation (as they did in the past)?
A. Not forever, if ever. Israel will exist at the time of the Rapture and into the time of the Tribulation, at the time of the Return of Christ and into the Millennium (until the end of human time).
However, this does not necessarily guarantee that Israel will exist continuously as a nation until that time. Just as the people during the Old Testament and the time of Christ did not foresee the future diaspora and eventual return of Israel to its homeland (1948), it is conceivable that Israel will again suffer a national dissolution, to be followed by another "national resurrection" (Ez. 37). I do not believe this temporary dissolution will happen. I believe we are witnessing the beginning of the end of human history, which includes the existence of the nation of Israel.
Q. Will Israel have any major conflicts in the future?
A. Yes. Israel will still be attacked by other nations, both near neighbors (Syria, Jordan aka Moab and Ammon, Iraq aka Babylon, Egypt) and distant nations (Russia aka Magog and Rus and Rosh, Iran aka Persia, Saudi Arabia aka Sheba, Turkey aka Tubal, possibly China aka the east). This could take place during one or two major battles. In each of these battles Israel will be victorious and will finally appear to enjoy peace, as a nation.
Q. Will Israel attain to a lasting peace through human power or alliances?
A. No, though it will appear that it has.
The rising European empire (under the rule of the Beast of Revelation) will then strike a treaty with Israel, eventually leading to the Beast entering the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. This will awaken the nation of Israel to the unholy alliance they have entered into with the Anti-Christ. Then Satan will begin another attempt at the "final solution" of destroying Israel. Terrible persecution will take place against Israel and those who trust God. Israel will realize that Jesus is the prophesied Messiah and will turn to Christ. It appears that Israel will seek refuge in the ancient city of Petra.
Before Satan can destroy Israel, Christ will return, with resurrected and glorified believers, to save Israel and set up His kingdom, which will be headquartered in Jerusalem. Christ will rule, with His Church, for one thousand years, while Satan is bound. At the end of the thousand years, Christ will release Satan and a final human attempt to overthrow Christ will end in Satan's defeat.
The earth will be destroyed by fire, there will be a final judgment of all the unsaved from all of history, at which point they will be assigned to the Lake of Fire, forever. There will be a New Heaven, a New Earth and a New Jerusalem, ushering in eternity future.
