People want the positive things that make them comfortable, but they do not want to make the decisions or live the lives that God requires of them.

What People Want
People want rejuvenation without regeneration.
People want forgiveness without repentance.
People want hope without abandonment.
People want righteousness without sacrifice.
People want peace without surrender.
People want joy without self denial.
People want love without selflessness.
People want success without humility.
People want freedom without limits.
People want unity without focus.
People want restoration without reclamation.
People want power without dependency.
People want truth without the Holy Bible.
People want spirituality without the Holy Spirit.
People want to be Christian without being saved.
People want the benefits of being Christian, without faithful obedience to Christ.
PEOPLE WANT THE RESURRECTION WITHOUT THE CRUCIFIXION.

Matthew 16:24-27
(24) Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
(25) For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
(26) For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
(27) For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
