WHAT AN ATROCITY

IT LED TO EARLY PERSECUTION
When the Roman army would conquer and then enter a city, the General would call the leaders of the community (religious, financial, political, etc) and tell them that they were now under the rule of Caesar. Basically their lives would continue as before, but with one change. They could keep their temples, religions and gods, but were required to acknowledge Caesar as God. Of course the various religious leaders (worshipers of the sun, moon stars, rivers, woods) would bow and acknowledge Caesar as God. The Christian and the Jew refused to yield to this pressure and they became outlaws to the Empire. This led to the great persecutions of Christians during the early years of the Church.

IT IS HAPPENING NOW
This happens today with Christians who stand firm on Biblical and Christian truth concerning ethics and evangelism. But now, in 2015, the grass roots are denying Christians the right to follow their faith.

Isn't it interesting that the people who cry "foul" the loudest when government does not take from the "haves," to give to the "have nots," are quiet when the government forbids Christians the right to earn a living, unless they surrender their religious rights and deny their faith? THIS TOO IS PERSECUTION. If a man cannot provide for his family without violating his Biblical faith, it is persecution.

It is happening more and more, and the anti-Christian citizenry is totally on board with this oppression.
