NOT SLAVES OF THE FLESH
When someone tells you that you have to struggle with the "flesh" (the sinful nature, the carnal mind) until you die, DON'T BELIEVE THEM. It is true that you will have the physical body until you either die or you are raptured (at which time you will receive the glorified body), but the physical body (flesh) is not to be confused with the carnal mind (flesh) which is a spiritual condition. Remember, Jesus had physical flesh, therefore the physical flesh cannot be sinful. In fact, the physical body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
DEATH TO THE FLESH
Paul clearly said that the "flesh," (the carnal mind, not the physical body) should be put to death.
Romans 6:6-7
(6) Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
(7) For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Galatians 5:24
(24) And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Galatians 6:14
(14) But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.
Colossians 3:5
(5) Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
DEATH IS OUR ENEMY, NOT OUR SAVIOR
Also keep in mind, death does not save us from sin. Death is the result of sin, and death is part of the curse, and death is our enemy. Only Jesus saves us from our sin (including our sin nature, the "flesh").
1 Corinthians 15:26
(26) The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
2 Timothy 1:10
(10) But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel:
Hebrews 2:14
(14) Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;
When we discover and experience this great truth, our lives are taken to another level of spiritual blessing.
