BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS

Blessed Are The Peacemakers.

A Biblical peacemaker is a Christian who chooses to be an instrument of God's peace, not a person who thwarts God's plan and provision for protection of the righteous or punishment of the wicked.

God has ordained that government should wield the sword to protect and punish. The misuse of the the sword brings God's judgment, even on the State.

God gave the sword of steel to the State and the sword of the Spirit to Christians and the Church. Each should wield its own. They are not interchangeable or exchangeable. The State should support our use of our sword and we should support the State in using its sword correctly, whether police or military.

Killing is terrible. War is terrible. The evil heart causes men to love war. But sometimes, in this present age, killing and war are necessary. God has appointed the State to do this terrible but essential thing.

Christians should recognize and support the State and those who sacrifice to serve in this way. We can honor the servants without idolizing or lionizing them or their dangerous duties. Christian children should respect the warriors of the State, but they need to have heroes who fight the fight of faith as peacemakers, wielding the sword of the Spirit.
