THE GRACE IS DIVINE, THE RESPONSE IS MINE

THE GRACE IS DIVINE, THE RESPONSE IS MINE
Grace cannot take you, to where you are not willing to go.

This is not an argument for inherent righteousness. This is a reminder of Divine enabling and human responsibility; the responsibility of the parent to "train" and the responsibility of the child to submit to legitimate authority.

Parental responsibility is not simply "pointing out" the way, or getting a child "started in" the way, or "trusting God" to keep them in the way. Biblical parenting is the constant, "hands on" involvement in all of the vicissitudes of life. It is training, instructing, leading, encouraging, reproving, disciplining in every area of life, all of the time. It is a cooperative venture between God, parents and child. We cannot do God's part and God will not do our part. We are co-workers with God in the raising, developing, growing of our children.

The grace of God is sufficient to lead anyone to any level of spiritual growth and maturity, provided they are willing to be made willing.

We should never underestimate the power of God (within the boundaries that He has set) to accomplish a miraculous work in our children, and we should never overestimate the development of our children (especially before they are entirely sanctified) to follow Christ fully.

Proverbs 22:6
(6) Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
