NEGLECT GOD'S PROVISION AT YOUR OWN PERIL

NEGLECT GOD'S PROVISION AT YOUR OWN PERIL
(very important thoughts as we approach the New Year).

If you are trying to go somewhere you have never been, or do something you have never done, or learn about something you do not know, then you are well advised to seek help, instruction, direction. Today it is so easy to get information on our smartphones. But having a personal instructor or mentor or guide is also a great option. In fact, sometimes the best option is to know someone who knows; preferably a person who knows and knows how to communicate that knowledge, information, skill or ability to you.

This Is True For Being A Christian
GOD HAS PROVIDED...

HIS WORD.
The Holy Bible is His written revelation to teach, direct, comfort, confront, rebuke, convince, repair, restore, enlighten, invigorate us. His Word is infallible (but it must be accurately translated and interpreted by God's own word). If knowledge conflicts with His word, it is not truth. His word is essential to spiritual life.

HIS HOLY SPIRIT. The Holy Spirit is God Himself, interacting with us and giving Personal leading, explanation, wisdom, and power. His Holy Spirit is infallible (but He must be correctly discerned). The Holy Spirit and the word of God always agree. If a spirit conflicts with God's word, it is not the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit imparts life, light, power and holiness to believers.

HIS CHURCH. His Church is the body, the family, the leadership that is enlightened, empowered, appointed, anointed, gifted, called and sanctioned by God to be the human community through which His truth and grace and power are communicated to believers. His Church is not Divine and it is not infallible, aside from its faithful adherence to revealed word of God. God designed the local church to be His earthly instrument of life, order, service, discipline, training, support.

* There are people who try to be Christian, but they reject or neglect these three provisions of God.

* Being a successful Christian requires knowledge and obedience to the word of God.

* Being a successful Christian requires a living and obedient relationship with the Holy Spirit.

* Being a productive Christian requires us to be part of a New Testament based, Holy Spirit led and empowered church.

These are not options for the serious follower of Christ, these are obligatory. It is the way God designed it.

TO IGNORE GOD'S DESIGN IS TO INVITE DISASTER.
