IT IS ALL CONNECTED
The mind is the command center of our lives. We need to have the mind of Christ.

The three manifestations of the sinful life are,
Sinful thoughts
Sinful words
Sinful actions.

Since our sinning began at an early age (oozing from an inherited sinful nature), then we have all been separated from God by spiritual death, and therefore in need of a new beginning, a new birth. This corruption shaped our thoughts, words, and deeds.

The longer we go without the light and power of God in orur lives, the more corrupted we become in our thoughts, words and deeds. Even after regeneration we need to totally surrender our minds to God and bring "every thought captive to the obedience of Christ." If our thoughts are not guided by His word and purified by His Spirit, then our words and actions are going be displeasing to Him also.

Salvation is not only deliverance from the guilt and penalty of our former sins, it is daily deliverance from the thoughts, ideas, beliefs that are contrary to the rule of God now. A right relationship with God shapes our thinking, and our thinking shapes our lives.

Matthew 22:37
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

Romans 12:2
2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Philippians 2:5
5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Colossians 1:21
21 And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled
