DIDN'T SHOW UP

DIDN'T SHOW UP
Just wondering... How happy would you be if you showed up, at an athletic event to watch your favorite team play an important game, but when you entered the stadium you saw that some of the key players did not show up or they just sat on the bench, waiting to either be entertained, or for the referee to end the non-game? Yeah, me too.

Actually, sometimes, when a team is only half hearted in its play, the fans and the commentators will say, "they did not show up for the game."

I have seen some committed players during a game, try to motivate the lax players on their team because they were just biding their time until the final whistle.

I have heard players and coaches say, after a despondent showing in a game, "we just did not show up."

It is disappointing.

It could also be a marriage relationship, or family relationships. It could be the work force in a business. It could be the government officials who do not do their job.

PASSAGES...
Colossians 3:23
(23) And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Colossians 3:17
(17) And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Romans 14:8
(8) For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's.

Ephesians 6:6-8
(6) Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart;
(7) With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:
(8) Knowing that whatsoever good thing any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.

OTHER THINGS TO PONDER...
What if the players showed up late for the game, or worse for the games?
What if the players did not bring their equipment, or the equipment manager did not get things ready?
What if the players played video games, sent emails, watched youtube, watched another game, traded recipes, knitted scarves, while they were on the bench, waiting for their squad to take the court/field?
What if they did not listen to their coach, encourage their teammates, pay attention to their opponents?
What if they spent their energy in foolishness, the hours before the game?
What if they did not get the rest they needed, in order to give their best effort during the game?
What if they just did not feel like showing up at the stadium?
What if they let other players carry their load?
