BUT GOD'S WORD HAS NOT CHANGED
* God appointed the State (not the Church or individual Christians) to wield the sword to punish the wicked and protect the righteous.
* Christ following, Bible believing Christians DO NOT wield the sword of steel but the Sword of the Spirit.
* God's redeemed people are PEACEMAKERS and they are the instruments of God's peace and the unredeemed State is God's instrument of protection and punishmemt.
* Christians do not hinder the State in its God given role of protector.
* When the State fails to do its job, people suffer greatly.
When the Church (Christians) fails to do its (their) job, people suffer eternally.
