DON'T BE SHOCKED AT FALSE NARRATIVES AND CHRISTIAN BASHING.

DON'T BE SHOCKED AT FALSE NARRATIVES AND CHRISTIAN BASHING.

1 Corinthians 10:14
14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

I had not thought about the following information from Church history for a long time. I refer to this information, in order to point out that Christian values sometimes prohibit our involvement with society, and it is sometimes misunderstood by society.

For the record, early Christians were thought to be...
1. Anti-social.
Christians did not participate in, or attend certain public events because the public behavior was offensive to Christian values. Sporting events were offensive because the athletes were scantily clad or they wore nothing, and also because sacrifices to false gods was part of the celebrations. Being a medical doctor required veneration of false gods and sacrifices.
2. Atheistic.
Christians did not acknowledge Caesar as God, and they did not celebrate pagan events or make sacrifices to pagan gods.
3. Homosexual.
Christian love for fellow believers was misinterpreted by non-Christians.
4. Unpatriotic.
Christians did not participate in various public service positions, such as government jobs because it required sacrifices to be made to false gods.
5. Cannibals.
Christians were said to have secret meetings, where it was reported that they ate the body and drank the blood of other people.

Crazy, Ain't It?
I know this seems absurd, but Christians were unable to be part of public life because it required participation in non-Christian activities. We are revisiting those days. At least the Christians who choose to live according to their Christian values. They will not be a part of certain social activities because participating requires denial of Christian truth or values, and also because society is so thoroughly anti-Christian that it falsely judges Christian beliefs and behavior.
