WOW, WHAT A POWERFUL PASSAGE!
Proverbs 16:2-6
(2) All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes; but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
(3) Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
(4) The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
(5) Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
(6) By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

SADLY, PEOPLE DO NOT REALLY SEE IT.
As long as people set their own standards, they will never understand the clear word of God.

We live at a time and in a place where vast numbers of people justify the abomination of murdering the innocent (both the pre-born and the newborn); they advocate the perversion of joining male to male and female to female; they denounce and renounce the rule of God by quoting Bible haters, and Bible distorters, and Bible deniers rather than agreeing with those who believe in, and live by the teachings of the Holy Bible and walk in the power of the grace of God.

In spite of the evidence and the arguments which contradict men's ways, men seldom denounce or renounce their political, social, moral, religious commitments and human heroes, because ALL OF THE WAYS OF A MAN ARE CLEAN IN HIS OWN EYES. This is because "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked..." (Je. 17"9); and "There is a way that seems right to a man, but the end of it is death" (Pr. 14"12); and "Every man is right in his own eyes..." (Pr. 21:2).

IS THERE ANY HOPE?
So, what is the answer? We must let THE LORD WEIGH OUR SPIRITS, JUDGE our ways, DIRECT our paths, ENLIGHTEN our minds. God is able to cut beneath the superficial and faulty armor that men hide behind, when they are willing to come face to face with God and His word, when they are willing to have their inner self exposed and judged by God's eternal truth.
Hebrews 4:12
(12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

We do have a responsibility and an opportunity to turn to God and be turned from sin. God went on to say, "COMMIT YOUR WORKS TO THE LORD." God enables us, but it is still OUR responsibility to abandon Satan, Self and Sin and surrender to God.

Notice too, it is our WAY that is errant, and it is our WORKS that need to be committed to God. This is because our way is manifested in our works. If our way is corrupt, our works are corrupt. Even the good that an evil man does is evil (Is. 64:6). To claim an inner reconciliation with God while living an outward life of disobedience is hypocrisy. God does not see a sinner as a saint, He sees us for what we are. If we are in sin, He sees us as sinners; if we are in faith, He sees us as believers. Faith is victory over sin.

When we surrender our behavior (our works) to God, He establishes our thoughts, our understanding, "... THY THOUGHTS SHALL BE ESTABLISHED." To be "established" is to be fashioned, framed and fitted for God's purposes. It all starts in the inner man, permeating the mind, and radiating out to our actions. We will be enabled to bring, "every thought under the obedience of Christ" (2 Co. 10:5).

GOD WILL REIGN VICTORIOUS
Man's resistance to God is futile, even when it is a concerted effort among many. GOD HAS A PURPOSE AND GOD WILL REIGN VICTORIOUS. That is not in question. The question we must deal with, is, "Will I find and fulfill His purpose in my life and will I finish my course victoriously?" Not only will God not be thwarted in His purpose, He will use His enemies to accomplish His plan, "EVEN THE WICKED FOR THE DAY OF EVIL."

HUMAN PRIDE IS A DESTROYER
The vices men enjoy and the divices men employ are the result of human arrogance, and the cause of Divine judgment, "EVERYONE THAT IS PROUD IN HEART IS AN ABOMINATION TO THE LORD." It does not matter that the forces of evil will join together in resistance to God, He will conquer them all, " THOUGH HAND JOIN IN HAND, HE SHALL NOT BE UNPUNISHED."

DIVINE INTERVENTION IS ESSENTIAL
Men cannot save themselves because they are evil and helpless, and men cannot even find the escape from evil because they are blind. But God in mercy seeks that which is lost and calls them all to repentance. However, God's call must be answered through humble submission and obedience. BY MERCY AND TRUTH, INIQUITY IS PURGED: AND BY THE FEAR OF THE LORD MEN DEPART FROM EVIL. God delivers from sin.
