WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
It is possible for us to see what we are looking for and miss what we need to see. It has been demonstrated that automobile drivers who are looking for oncoming cars at an intersection will run into motorcyclists who are in plain view, because the car driver was focused on seeing other cars, and had inadvertently and unconsciously filtered out other vehicles.

The story goes:
At a dinner party, the big game hunter interrupted the returned missionary as he was talking about the poverty, the sickness, the spiritual darkness of India. The big game hunter said that he had visited India a few times and had never seen any of those things.

Later that evening the returned missionary heard the big game hunter telling a thrilling story about his encounter with a Bengal Tiger. When the big game hunter finished his story the missionary said that he had spent over a decade in India and had never seen a Bengal Tiger.

The fact is...
It is possible to go to church, go through life, seeing things that interest us, entertain us and bother us, but miss the glorious truths that give us true vision and understanding.

The question is not, What Is In Your Wallet, but rather What Are You Looking For?
