WE ARE AT WAR

WE ARE AT WAR
It was said almost 200 years ago,

"THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN THE SWORD."

As early as 600 BC it had been said,
"The Word Is Mightier Than The Sword."

The New Testament writer of the book of Hebrews said,
Hebrews 4:12
(12) For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The power of words, whether spoken or written, has shaped more lives and determined the destinies of more countries than can be known.

Today the masters of sword wielding, Islamic militants, are continuing their attempt at world domination by using their sword and their words (on the internet).

The atheistic Communists and Socialists continue their war against freedom, against the God of the Old and New Testament, against His word (the Holy Bible), and against His people (the believing followers of Jesus Christ).

And the people with the greatest power that has ever been held in the grasp of mortal man (the word of God), sit idly by with their mighty weapon stuck in a drawer or sitting on a shelf, accumulating dust instead of shattering and scattering the darkness.

Christians at large are allowing the lies of liberalism, the threats of Islam and all of the errors of other wannabe world conquerors to shake the foundation of our world, while they hide the word of God from the clamoring masses.

The word of God should be hidden in our hearts, then it should be drawn out for spiritual battle, and it should be used to set the prisoners of sin, selfishness and Satan free from their cruel taskmasters.

RISE UP, O MEN OF GOD
Text: William P. Merrill, 1867-1954
Music: William H. Walter, 1825-1893

1. Rise up, O men of God!
Have done with lesser things.
Give heart and mind and soul and strength
to serve the King of kings.

2. Rise up, O men of God!
The kingdom tarries long.
Bring in the day of brotherhood
and end the night of wrong.

3. Rise up, O men of God!
The church for you doth wait,
her strength unequal to her task;
rise up, and make her great!

4. Lift high the cross of Christ!
Tread where his feet have trod.
As brothers of the Son of Man,
rise up, O men of God!

LIFT YOUR VOICE, INSCRIBE YOUR MESSAGE,
1 Corinthians 15:34
(34) Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.

Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Youtube and a myriad of other communication paths are being commandeered by pornographers, terrorists, God haters, Statists, while believers are afraid that they will look fanatical and offend their neighbors. With some believers, image (self-image) is not just the most important thing, it is the only thing that matters.

WE ARE AT WAR, AND THE CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS ARE AWOL OR HIDING OR ON VACATION OR THEY ARE GIVING AID AND COMFORT TO THE ENEMY.

ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS
Text: Sabine Baring-Gould, 1834-1924
Music: Arthur S. Sullivan, 1842-1900

1. Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
forward into battle see his banners go!
Refrain:
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
with the cross of Jesus going on before.

2. At the sign of triumph Satan's host doth flee;
on then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!
Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
(Refrain)

3. Like a mighty army moves the church of God;
brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we,
one in hope and doctrine, one in charity.
(Refrain)

4. Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
but the church of Jesus constant will remain.
Gates of hell can never gainst that church prevail;
we have Christ's own promise, and that cannot fail.
(Refrain)

5. Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,
blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud, and honor unto Christ the King,
this through countless ages men and angels sing.
(Refrain)

FAITH IS THE VICTORY
John H. Yates, 1891
Ira D. Sankey, 1891

1. Encamped along the hills of light,
Ye Christian soldiers, rise,
And press the battle ere the night
Shall veil the glowing skies.
Against the foe in vales below
Let all our strength be hurled;
Faith is the victory, we know,
That overcomes the world.

Refrain:
Faith is the victory!
Faith is the victory!
Oh, glorious victory,
That overcomes the world.

2. His banner over us is love,
Our sword the Word of God;
We tread the road the saints above
With shouts of triumph trod.
By faith, they like a whirlwind’s breath,
Swept on o’er every field;
The faith by which they conquered death
Is still our shining shield.

Ref.

3. On every hand the foe we find
Drawn up in dread array;
Let tents of ease be left behind,
And onward to the fray.
Salvation’s helmet on each head,
With truth all girt about,
The earth shall tremble ’neath our tread,
And echo with our shout.

Ref.

4. To him that overcomes the foe,
White raiment shall be giv’n;
Before the angels he shall know
His name confessed in heav’n.
Then onward from the hills of light,
Our hearts with love aflame,
We’ll vanquish all the hosts of night,
In Jesus’ conqu’ring name.

Ref.
