MOVING AWAY IS SO MUCH EASIER THAN COMING BACK
My observation is that a person who was raised in the church, under the sound of the gospel and who actually manifested a miraculous change of life after a personal encounter with Jesus, but, at a later date, begins to drift away from Christ, and allows the influence of the world to embitter him/her toward Christian fellowship and loving submission to the Lord and His Church, if they do not make a quick and complete break with fringe Christianity, they will harden their heart and lose the beauty of salvation from their life completely.

Sadly, these Bible words apply to this person...
2 Peter 2:20-22
(20) For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
(21) For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
(22) But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

Loving Christians will share with them, in hopes of winning them back to the way of God. The only hope is for that backsliding one to face the fact of their rebellion and seek God with the whole heart. This may require steps of reconciliation with those that the backslider has offended. Most people are not going to humble themselves and do the right thing. They will drift further away until there is no possibility of reaching them.
