A KINGDOM WITH A COMMON ACCENT

A  KINGDOM WITH A COMMON ACCENT
In the early 1970s, I stood on Speaker's Corner, in Hyde Park, listening intently to a man delineate the different accents as found throughout the United Kingdom, from Scotland to Wales and even neighborhood to neighborhood in London.

I waited for the right moment and raised my hand. The speaker pointed me out and asked me what I wanted to say.

I told him that I knew of a kingdom, where all of the people have the same accent.

He asked me what kingdom that would be.

I said, "In the Kingdom of God, the accent is always on Jesus Christ." He invited me to come and share the soapbox with him.

As the years have passed, I am more convinced than ever that those who are part of the Kingdom of God, put their accent, emphasis, on Jesus Christ.
