NOT JUST RBALL

NOT JUST RBALL
While the Gould boys (Mark and Caleb) were playing Rball on one court, a married couple was playing their first game of Rball in the next court. They finished before the boys did, so I engaged them in conversation, about various subjects, including Racquetball. He mentioned the possible danger of someone getting hit with a racket. I told him that there is a "hinder" rule, which allows a player to hold back, instead of swinging at a ball, because he may hit his opponent with the racket. In that case, he calls, "hinder" and the ball is replayed. He liked that idea.

I went on to explain that we as Christians are suppose to be witnessing for Christ, but sometimes a person allows selfishness or sin in their lives to "HINDER" his witness. I pointed out that in Rball a person gets a "replay," but in life when a person HINDERS his witness, there is no, "replay." He stood there, looking as if someone had turned on the light. He commented as to how helpful that thought was.

I asked him how long he had been a follower of Christ. He thought about it for a while and then gave me his testimony. I asked him if he was following Christ faithfully and he said he was trying. I told him he could do more than try, that he could in fact follow fully. We spoke about several other issues of life, such as children and work, as they relate to salvation. I shared a few more thoughts. He seemed to be genuinely responsive to the words of encouragement I offered him.

He an his family are here for sun and fun, but hopefully he will take back some encouragement and light, which will lead him into greater victory.
