TWO SIDES IN JUXTAPOSITION

TWO SIDES IN JUXTAPOSITION
I don't live and die for any flag or any political cause. I do denounce evil, wherever it is found. My loyalty is to Christ and His rule.

One Side
Concerning the Confederate flag (or even the Confederacy), it is unfortunate that there are people who will let their loyalty to the commendable aspects of that tragic period in history (the war between the States) make them angry and callous with people who do not have the same understanding as they do, or will even gloss over the hateful actions of that time.

Another Side
It is equally sad that those who do not see anything commendable about the Confederacy, do not respect those with a differing point of view, but rather hold them up to public contempt and ridicule.

Point Of Contact
It is too bad that the same things that divided a nation, still divide people. I understand that people will see some things differently. But love looks at the heart, not at the perceived differences concerning non Biblical issues. We can still love one another, even if we do not hold the same viewpoint. Believe it or not, there are sincere followers of Christ who view this subject differently. American slavery was wrong, in the north and the south, practiced by whites and blacks, under the Stars and Bars (not to be confused with the Battle flag) and the Stars and Stripes, from 1619 to 1861 (American colonies and USA) and from 1861 to 1865 (in north and south). But there is more to this troubled time than an easy attack on slavery, and that is where the confusion and division lies.

The Christian Side
You cannot help what another person feels, says, or does, but you can choose the higher road for yourself.
