JESUS CONQUERED DEATH
I enjoyed being at the senior home this evening. Thanks to Bill, Lydia, Quinten and Hannah for coming out to help also.
Human Help Limited
I pointed out to these folks, who are very advanced in age, that all of the helps and answers to the problems of life eventually fail. Medical doctors, relational counselors, financial advisers and others can help us with a great many problems. They can guide us into success, they can lead us out of trouble. But all of them are limited to this world, this life. We need help beyond the natural. We need help in the miraculous.
Jesus Is More Than Adequate
Jesus is the only One we can trust fully to guide, empower, deliver, rescue and be with us all the way to the end of this life and into the next. Not only is He able, He is willing to journey with us through all of our struggles, questions, trials, and He is the only One Who can go with us through the valley of death. He does not desert us. We can count on Him never leaving us, or forsaking us.
I pointed out that Jesus promised His presence and we can trust Him, because He has already crossed THE GREAT DIVIDE. I told them that Jesus is the only One Who could promise us His presence, provide His deliverance, because He is the only One Who has conquered death.
Jesus Alive From The Dead
I described the present day burial place of Muhammad. I mentioned that there are over a BILLION Muslims who trust him, but he is still in his grave, therefore he cannot give any assistance to anyone. I told them that Jesus is not in His grave, because He is risen as He said, therefore He is the only One who can miraculously deliver us into the next world, where He will give us a new body, and where sickness and death are done away with forever.
After the service I found out that one of the women in the group was Muslim. I am glad I had the opportunity to point her to Jesus. Pray for the Holy Spirit to draw her to the Father.
RECIPROCAL BLESSINGS
The residents get so blessed by the children's presence. They love to see them, hear them sing, talk to them afterwards and hug them. They even want them to call them by endearing terms (grandma, granny). And of course, they always ask about them when they are not able to visit.
The children also benefit from their visits with the seniors. They interact with them really well and show them affection. They get to sing and socialize at a different level. Also, they get to be around old folks for a change, since they don't know any other old people. hehehe.
Children and seniors need to be around each other in life. It is normal. We live in a bold new world that separates people by age, along with other criteria. They are separated at church and the loathing between these two segments of society shows up in their everyday life.
