MEDITATION

MEDITATION
One of the things that we can do, which can result in spiritual development, is MEDITATE. This includes Introspection and Direction.

Obviously I am talking about Biblical, Christian meditation. I am talking about focusing on the word and will of God. In fact, I am talking about focusing and conversing with God. It is through meditation that God can show us what we are (Introspection), show us what we should be and show how to become what God wants us to be (Direction).

Meditation Should Guide Our Affections,
By causing us to love not the world, neither the things that are in the world (1 Jn. 2:15);
By causing us to love ourselves as we ought to love ourselves (Ro. 12:3 with Ep. 5:28-29);
By causing us to love our neighbor as ourselves (Mt. 22:36-40);
By causing us to love God with all of our heart, mind, soul and strength (Mk. 12:30).

Meditation is ENCOURAGED by the Scriptures and it is EXEMPLIFIED by believers.
