REJECT OUR WITNESS
Usually, when I am witnessing to supposed Jehovah's Witness's about the true Jehovah of the Bible, they falsely accuse me of believing in three gods. I repeatedly tell them that I only believe in one God, but the Bible clearly reveals the one true God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit. At this point they boldly assert that I believe in three gods. It is also interesting that they claim, according to their own translation of the Bible (the New World Translation), that there are two gods according to John 1:1. Of course, there is only One God according to that passage, which is what I believe.
ERRONEOUSLY COMPARED TO NAZIS
Because they do not accept my honest statement, that I believe in only One God, they doubt my intelligence, my sincerity, my integrity or all three. This is what it is like when I tell people I do not view the old South's intention to start a new government as strictly racist and slave based. Nor do I believe that those who respect the old South are akin to Nazis. This is the problem. People are using this to attack other people and they are accusing innocent people, of the past and present, as being racists, stupid or lying. This same mentality drives actual racism.
ALL GOVERNMENTS ARE FLAWED
There never has been a flawless human government. Even the USA started with major flaws and sins. In fact, the Union had major flaws and sins at the time of Southern secession. This world is not heaven and all governments are temporal. The USA has made some improvements since the War Between the States, but it has also made major and destructive decisions. A person does not have to look hard or long to find ethical failures with any human institution. But this does not justify rancor or hostility against brothers and sisters.
HOPELESS EXCHANGE
I would like to think that this present discussion will enlighten people to the hopelessness of trusting in human solutions to spiritual problems, but sadly it only deepens the wounds and widens the division.
PEOPLE OR PRINCIPLES
Christians must make certain that they do not turn an argument about principles into an attack against people. Some things are not worth a victory.
