TOO SMART, OR NOT.

TOO SMART, OR NOT.
I was thinking about a Christian song, from the 1970's, written and performed by "Mickey and Becky" (Moore), which I think was called, Testimony. Let me share a verse and chorus with you, then make a quick point.

"Welllll, there's not much to tell,
Whenever I'm compelled to share my Testimony.
No hair raising tales of my hell raising day,
With the demons hanging all over me.
Well, I never smoked dope,
Or swore at the Pope,
Or spent the night with a shady lady.

I just came in bold,
When I was 6 year old,
And said, "Preacher, I want Him to save me."

dlg...
I know people who get all bent our of shape when they hear that a very young child can get saved. People want to put an age on salvation. They say that a child cannot have saving faith at 4 years old, or 3 years old, and certainly not at 2 years old. It is as if a child that young is not smart enough to get saved. I did not know that a minimal age of intellect was required.

However, my response is just the opposite. Instead of asking, "how smart does someone need to be to get saved," I ask "How dumb must a person be to not get saved?"
