I enjoyed several conversations with folks today. People are concerned about the future, and they are becoming interested in what the Bible says is going to happen. In fact, I am seeing more people searching for answers and listening to the Biblical option today, than I have for years. I don't know that it will translate into a revival, or at least a widespread evangelistic response, but it at least resembles the "if any man man hear my voice, and open the door" scenario in Revelation 3:20. That passage goes on to say that Christ will come into that person and will have the last meal of the day with him.
We may be in those days. It may be the last call to come and eat with Him. Sadly, there are few who will hear and heed the call of God. The way is narrow that leads to eternal life, and there are few people who will find and follow it.
Now, here is the really scary thing. Someone could come along and offer a solution (which is contrary to the Biblical model), and lead the world into a temporary safe mode. This will satisfy most folks, and they will be convinced that the Jesus thingy and the Bible banging are really not essential. They will follow a pied piper to their own doom, because they don't really want salvation from sin, they want protection from suffering in this present evil world.
