I meet people who think I am gullible to believe in such things as,
* the creation account in Genesis,
* the Noahic flood,
* the Tower of Babel,
* the parting of the Red Sea,
* heaven,
* hell,
* the virgin birth,
* the resurrection of the body,
* the rapture,
* the Tribulation,
* the Anti-Christ,
* the ultimate survival of Israel,
* the future conversion of Israel to Jesus,
* the Millennium,
* the final judgment,
* eternal life.
Actually, I believe these things because they are based in faith (trust in God's word) rather than gullibility (being naive, easily fooled).
HERE IS WHY I BELIEVE THESE THINGS
I believe that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead physically, for our justification.
Let's face it, if I can believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ, then I should not have any problem believing anything else God says in His word. I could take you through steps that lead people to believe or trust God, but the fact is, we either choose to accept His word or we don't. Believing something does not make it true. But disbelieving that which is true does not make it untrue. God and His word have always proved themselves trustworthy.
Christian faith, Biblical faith is initiated by the word of God, because faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God. I either choose to believe the Bible or disbelieve the Bible.
FIRST STEPS
Here are some first steps in Bible faith.
* I must believe that God is.
* I must believe that I have willfully disobeyed God and therefore worthy of His judgment.
* I must believe that Jesus died and rose again in order to reconcile me to God.
* I must believe that Christ saves me from my sins.
