BREAD ON THE POLITICAL WATER

BREAD ON THE POLITICAL WATER
(trying to reach those who disagree and those who serve Stateism).

Here are two things that sink the credibility of those who support Obama and his agenda (or whoever). Basically it is tunnel vision, which focuses on specific people and specific issues, forgetting the bigger picture, and rejecting the higher law.

#1 Unbridled Followship
I understand the compassion factor for the downtrodden that is expressed in some of the liberal principles (though I don't always agree with their solutions). However, when a person gives unbridled support to a leader (in this case Obama), whose position is self contradictory, self serving, and contrary to the actual issues (that are supposedly being served), then that supporter is betraying his/her principles in favor of a personality. It is a lack of wisdom and a loss of credibility when people follow a person without holding their leader accountable for his/her actions, which are contrary to a higher law (God's word).

#2 Unsubstantiated Accusations
People who commit (blindly) to causes often accept the statements, accusations and declarations of the spokespeople for those causes, without actually examining the issues themselves and without finding out the truth concerning the people who are opposed to their positions concerning those causes. I am constantly amazed at the false accusations and assertions that liberal spokespeople make concerning those who disagree with them, but even more amazed that people (who are otherwise reasonable and well meaning) will swallow the lies and follow the deception.

It is always a good idea to understand the worldview and the life principles that guide your leaders. It is also true that some people openly and staunchly resist and reject Biblical standards and directives. At least those people are more consistent then the people who profess to be Christ followers, yet follow Bible haters.

(As I stipulated in my opening statement, these problems can exist on both sides of political, social questions. However, this post is an outreach to my liberal friends, who are trying to follow two mutually exclusive paths at the same time).

MY RESPONSES
#1
I admit to following Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible, even though people accuse me of blind faith or cult mentality. However, I have examined the Person, nature and ministry of Jesus Christ, as it is revealed in the Holy Bible, and I have personally encountered Jesus Christ, receiving His forgiveness, newness of life, His stated agenda and mission, and I submit entirely to His absolute authority and rule.

If a person disagrees with the Holy Bible and if a person criticizes the Holy Bible for being archaic or outmoded or simply the writings of mere men, then I understand, though I dispute, their point of view. However, I at least hold to a standard that does not change with the prevailing winds or shifting currents of human wisdom (?), since His word changes not and He is the same, yesterday, today and forever.

#2
I have learned to separate principles from personalities, and examine both according to their own standards. I study the issues, statement, accusations, and declarations of a stated position and I evaluate the life of the person who promotes and/or denounces a given position. I might chew on what someone says, but I do not swallow it just because they serve it up. God, through the Holy Bible is the only absolutely trustworthy authority there is and all others must be judged according to this one supreme authority.

I am not committed to parties, denominations, associations, organizations or spokespeople. I am committed to Christ and His word. Those who take the time, will find that God's solution to one problem does not require a person to be disobedient to other directives that God gives, whereas, humanism follows "situation ethics," "Fletcherism," "values clarification" is self serving and follows the fluctuating trends of the moment in order to contradict the eternal revelation of God.
